I can’t go one block without hearing some shop, stand, car, etc blasting this song. I must admit is really really catchy and I find myself singing it all day…but enough is enough…pleeeease let something else become popular soon!

and my stupid students got “Kissing You” by SNSD (or Girl’s Generation)… It’s kind of a stupid song but the chorus always takes over my brain. The overcrowded, over plastic surgeried (if thats even a word) teeny boppers are loathed by a majority of my students for being too fake…but that doesnt stop them from singing that song in class. AHHH!

So this is a really quick post actually. I’ll update more on the haps as soon as its not 5:20am- probably Sunday after I’ve finished my all night movie fest with my new best friend, Dae Hyuk (Danny), and after dinner with Won Seok (Tony).

So BOA finally released her new English single, “Eat You Up”. It is MUCH (or muchee in Konglish) better than I thought…and man…girl can dance. Sometimes her accent is a little annoying, and I’m not saying the song will be a hit by any means, but its not retarded…like some non-Asian/K-pop lovers might just enjoy it a little. But really check out home gurls dancin’….looks like some ish from America’s Best Dance Crew…

Korean Pop Culture 101

G Dragon of Big Bang

I’m just going to assume that none of my friends or family know a darn thing about Korean pop culture. I’ve found that most people don’t really think that Koreans could possibly have anything cool or interesting, and are always surprised to find out how big their music market is. ITS HUGE! Although Japan definitely has a much larger entertainment market, Koreans are really making their imprint on it these days. Lee Hyori, Wondergirls, Shinee, and Rain (ranked #3 most influential man in the world)…the list goes on and on. Some of them I like, some of them I hate, but I admit a lot of it is really catchy or just outright adorable. All that aside, Korean guys dress FIERCE…and this is just the outright truth. Metrosexual? Maybe….but still, their television dramas are full of guys that could school even the Clinton on “What Not to Wear.” It’s an Express for Men in human form.

Anyway, here are some little bits of Korean pop culture- music, movies, fashion, and much much more.
